Keep In Touch With Field Sales Team
A drug company with 15 sales reps in the field needs to recall them for impromptu sales meetings.
They set up a TASK on BizMessage with the keyword SALESMEETING.
The cellphone numbers of all 15 salespeople are added as the RECIPIENTS.
When they want to schedule a sales meeting the PA simply sends a single email to sendsms@bizmessage.co.za with thekeyword SALESMEETING and the date and time of the meeting.
All 15 salespeople get an SMS message simultaneously notifying them of the meeting.

Sign Up Customers Via SMS
A broker is selling a standard policy door to door in the field.
When customers sign up he sends an SMS to 0829047884 with the keyword NEWREG and the cellphone number of the new client.
The NEWREG task on BizMessage consults the NEWREGISTRATION URL on the company website and adds the new customer to its database.
The NEWREG task also sends back a confirmatory SMS back to the new customer with their unique customer number and a welcome.
Simultaneously the NEWREGISTRATION URL has also posed a reminder to the Account Dept to call the customer to confirm their bank details.
Finally the NEWREG task also sends an SMS back to the SENDER (the sales agent) confirming the sale and commission due.

Capture Orders Via SMS
A wine merchant provides its customers with a R2 premium SMS number through which to order products.
A customer has provided their cell number when signing up with the merchant.
The customer sends an SMS with the keyword BIZORDER to the 32010 shortcode number.
The SMS contains a description of the goods eg CABERNET 2 CASES.
The BizMessage task consults the ORDERS URL of the merchant and sends it the message and the number of the originating cellphone.
If the originating cellnumber matches an existing client the ORDERS web page matches the order and returns a confirmation and price to the customer.
The task can also notify dispatch via SMS to ship the order.
Note that this system costs the merchant nothing since they actually earn R1.00 every time an order is processed.

Capture Survey Data Realtime
A field survey organisation is conducting a poll in the field.
The company sets up a task on the keyword RESULTS.
The fieldworkers send back an SMS with the keyword followed by the responses to their questions after each interview.
The RESULTS task automatically updates the organisation's database with the results by sending a request to its website as each SMS comes in.
The task also sends an SMS back to the fieldworker with the name and address of their next client.

Use Premium SMS To Charge For A Service
A Hotspot provider advertises the R10 premium SMS number on its landing page inviting users to pay for the airtime via Premium SMS.
A customer sends teh keyword BIZHOTSPOT to the premium number and is charged R10.
A BizMessage task forwards the request to the AUTHENTICATE URL of the hotspot provider.
The URL returns a mesasge containing a Username and Password that are valid for 30 minutes at the hotspot.
This message is sent via SMS to the customer who can then use it for the 30 minutes of access he has purchased via Premium SMS.
The Hotspot provider earns R5 from the transaction without having to do any physical intervention.

Use Premium SMS To Get Feedback From A Marketing Campaign
Marketing department wants to gague the effectiveness of a magazine advert..
They include a request to SMS a keyword and their name to a R2 premium number in order to win a prize.
A BizMessage task is set up which is linked to the keyword BIZCOMPETITION and sends a thank you for participating response to the sender.
Their SMS LOG on BizMessage will show them the number of responses they received and also list the cell number and names of each entrant.
This allows them to gague the effectiveness of their campaign and also to draw the winners name from the list.
The entire operation costs them nothing and they do not even have to have a website that deals with the responses.

Manage and Monitor Field Staff
An electrical repair company wants to monitor its field teams.
They set up 2 TASKS on BizMessage with the keywords ARRIVE and DEPART.
When the electrician arrives at a customer he send an SMS with the keyword ARRIVE and the customer name.
The BizMessage task passes a request to the ARRIVE task URL which logs the date and time and sender number (the field staff member) in the company database..
The task also sends an SMS to the compnay PA so that she knows exactly where the staff member is.
When he completes the job the electrician send a message with the keyword DEPART and the BizMessage task again sends a request to the URL to log his date and time of departure.
The system also sends the field staff member an SMS confirming his next customer name and address.
At the end of the month mamagement at the press of a button have a complete breakdown of their staff members time onsite and travvelling time.
The company has also saved a significant amount by avoiding unnecessary cell calls to find out where their staff member is.
